Brian Travers UB40.   Double Platinum Album  ‘Labour of Love’.  Gold Single ‘Red Red Wine’.  Silver Single ‘Cherry Oh Baby’.
This is the most impressive award disc set we have ever seen.  Not only is the original award set presented personally to Brian Travers of UB40, it is also distinguished by being an award set that contains Platinum, Gold, and Silver records.
The BPI presented this to Brian in 1983 and it is in its original frame and glass.
‘Labour of Love’ was the fourth studio album by the band and was the first time they recorded an album of covers.  It’s success set their pattern for the next 30 years.    Included in this remarkable frame is the Gold single for ‘Red Red Wine’ and the Silver single for ‘Cherry Oh Baby’.  The album also contained the hits ‘Please Don’t Make Me Cry’ and ‘Many Rivers to Cross’.
To get a single award that was dedicated to an individual artist is rare enough, but to get an entire set like this in their original condition is unheard of.  This item is truly special.
