Kim Bendix Petersen – King Diamond

Danish heavy metal demigod King Diamond was given a human skeleton in 1980 that he named ‘Melissa’ and he used the femur and tibia bones in the shape of a cross as his mic stand, he also used the skull. This rare image is of him with the skull. It was stolen after a performance with Mercyful Fate in Holland in the mid 1980’s. He started out as a guitarist but switched to lead singer when he discovered he could scream like Gillan. His vocal style has been described as being ‘like Rob Halford being boiled alive’.
