Lee was born into a family of travelling Romany musicians His father was a musician and Lee started learning the piano when he was just 7. Luckily for fans of Country Rock he became a big fan of Buddy Holly and when he was 13, his family got him a guitar. He left school at 16 to become a professional musician.  He enjoyed early success with Chris Farlowe and the Thunderbirds but while he enjoyed playing Stax style music he really wanted to play Country. He got a break to play with Deep Purple’s John Lord on ‘Gemini Suite’ when Ritchie Blackmore refused to go into the studio. Lee took his chance. He has played with Eric Clapton, Bill Wyman, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, and Nanci Griffith. Albert won Guitar Player magazine’s ‘Best Country Guitarist’ five times in succession. He is known in the industry as ‘the guitar player’s guitar player’ and is often referred to as ‘Mr Telecaster’.
